Some Sydney happy snaps!

So I recently spent some time in Sydney where I had a fabulous time! I flew over alone on the 17th, and stayed with my aunty, uncle and two cousins until the 29th. I also turned 17 over there (on the 27th). Most of my time was spent shopping, and as I gradually start to wear my new clothes I will make some more outfit posts. While I was in Sydney, I also visited a friend in the Blue Mountains and went to the Harry Potter exhibition, which can I say was fantastic!

Some of my purchases. Note that there are many more where they came from - I just don't have pictures!

The red velvet cupcakes that my cousin made for my birthday!

My first experience with the cup of an American college student.

My ticket to the Harry Potter exhibition!

Macaroons - too good.

Heaven for the mouth.

This is how I wore my Litas for the first time!

Outfit:

-Dress, Alice in the Eve from General Pants Co.
- Shoes, Jeffrey Campbell Litas, turquoise, from Designer Forum.
-Necklace, one of a kind from a vintage store in NSW's Blue Mountains.
-Bangles, various.
-Earrings (albeit not visible) but Diva.

Litas!

I wouldn't be able to call myself a fashion blog without making a post about one of the current loves of my life, Litas! I actually don't have a pair of my own right now, mostly because I can't decide what colour to get. I feel that I should start with the simple black or taupe, yet I am obsessed with the teal, pink and lilac ones as well!

A Recent Purchase...

So it goes without saying that a fashion junkie who works in a shoe store would have trouble resisting the urge to purchase the footwear that surrounds her on a regular basis. Suprisingly, due to the fact that I have recently bought a car and have been 'saving'... I have actually not purchased that many shoes recently. However, on Thursday night, the fact that I was able to discount these from $100 to $30 was kind of too difficult to resist, thus - 'Marissa' became the latest addition to my collection.

The bright colours and the chunky heel give it a very 70s inspired feel, something you could probably see a very trendy Farrah Fawcett wearing back in the day. Although the mixture of colours is intitially frightening and the age old "what will I wear it with" question springs to mind - this statement summer piece actually can be worn in a few different ways!

- The initial safe option that springs to mind is of course the wardrobe staple of a LBD. If this dress is short, fun and summery then by all means pair it with this shoe and with the addition of some bright accessories (rings are always my favourite) you are ready to go!

- However, for the colour lovers, a dress in any of the colours featured in the zig-zags (purple, orange, pink blue, however maybe not teal because that could create a teal overload) with some cute and colourful chunky bangles, a massive ring and bouncy hair (70s middle part-style) - these shoes would look INCREDIBLE. I see them looking especially amazing with a classy shift dress as they ELONGATE the legs!

- Another look I see these shoes working with is the wide-leg pant! I am dying to get my hair on a pair (or six) in staple colours like white, red and blue - and also maybe a fuschia, as well as whatever else is out there! Teamed with a loose, tucked in blouse, bouncy Farrah hair, and some accessories such as cuffs (I have seen some amazing ones on ASOS), a short chunky necklace and some oversized stud earrings.
I'm sure the extremely fashion wise could think of a million and one other ways to wear the shoe, however the three described instantly sprang to my mind... I can visualise them, which excites me, and I hope I can find what I need to put the look together and then provide photos!

Hola!

One's first post on a new blog is always daunting. What to say? What pictures to include? What witty one-liners should I add in just to cement my own hilarity? In order to avoid all of these first-post qualms, I decided that the most appropriate way for me to welcome myself to the blogosphere of blogspot was to blog a picture of the 'genius' (or bored and fashion-obsessed teenager of mediocre intelligence) behind this blog.

Greetings! This is me when I dip-dyed my hair purple a few months ago.
That's all folks!
